MedGuard AI helps users scan and organize medication information and review possible interaction concerns. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app may process and how it is used.

Information We Process

MedGuard AI may process medication names, active ingredients, dosage text, timing instructions, warnings, scan results, family profile labels, caregiver records, reminder settings, and interaction history. If cloud features are enabled, account identifiers and App Store transaction identifiers may also be processed for authentication and subscriptions.

Camera, Photos, And OCR

The app uses the camera or selected photos only when you choose to scan a medication label, box, supplement, OTC product, or pharmacy receipt. Images are re-rendered before OCR to reduce image metadata. Scan images are not stored by default.

How Information Is Used

Information is used to provide app functionality, including medication list management, OCR review, evidence-based interaction checks, caregiver profile organization, scan history, privacy export, account deletion, and subscription access.

AI Processing

AI explanations may be used to simplify verified interaction evidence into plain English. AI requests must be evidence-only and should avoid raw OCR text, profile names, medication history payloads, and images. AI output is educational and must not be treated as medical advice.

Health And Safety Disclaimer

Data Storage

Local health data is stored in the app's protected app-support storage. Cloud health-data sync, if enabled, must use encrypted payloads and Supabase row-level security.

Analytics

The app is designed to use only privacy-safe product analytics, such as generic scan or paywall events. Analytics must not include medication names, OCR text, profile names, scan history, passwords, tokens, or other sensitive health details.

Sharing

Users may choose to prepare a pharmacist summary for sharing. Summaries are intended to support a conversation with a pharmacist or healthcare professional and should not include raw image payloads.

Data Export And Deletion

The app includes local export and local delete controls. Cloud export and account deletion workflows are provided through the production cloud configuration when cloud features are enabled.

Children

MedGuard AI is intended for adults, caregivers, and families managing medication information. It is not directed to children.

Changes

This policy may be updated as features, providers, retention practices, or legal requirements change.
